Instead of buying new, the old can be up cycled for a new life. Tone upon tones of pretty golden yellows made from light pink and cream lingerie, dyed with synthetic yellow dye for poly threads. It’s a perfect time of the year to get rid of threads that you don’t love and unflattering or pukey colors. About a year ago I made a deal with myself to get rid of anything black, white or pink in my wardrobe – especially with ginger red or golden hair in the summer. I have a giant closet (A room) so as you could imagine this has taken a while. This is the first of many posts on how the recoloring tuned out. The major gap in the closet of missing pretty yellows is no more and instead of giving away what was not going to be used anymore, they were recolored yellow. Result?Knickers catching the sun...In ClosingThe yellow poly dye was heated in a large pot and the garments were simmered over the lowest heat for an hour, with occasional stir.
