#Mermaid #FolkloreTheme #Storyboard #Henleys #Midspring #Ostara #Bealtainne #Summer - ☽ ✧ - Δ - ✧ ☾ - An outfit storyboard for Eostre’s tide of Midspring through to the beginning summer tides of Bealtainne, with... ... my Mermaid (Mermaid means a ‘French’ Maiden of the Sea) Henley, Scarlet dyed Grey stonewash 80’s denim jogger shorts, Sketchers vegan sunset, street shoes with hidden anklets and Jawbreaker clear bones Sunnies. One of the ways I enjoy keeping my long hair off my face in spring and summer months, with floral wreaths or garlands. Which is also a throwback of the European customs of May including the Roman goddess Maia and May flowers. From chapter 'Spring tide Outfitting' Story items;
Although I’m not a pink person, rose pinks and denim colors scream Eostre/Ostara to me and I like to wear them throughout the tide of Midspring. Once upon a time it was actually considered normal and not lude for statues to be showing their bust etc, so it is in that light I don’t mind the mermaid being busty and I like my body art. Part of the Ethnically European culture is the recognition of elementals (Nature spirits) and the Mermen & Mermaidens were from the French peoples with their porcelain white skin. The Greeks had their Sirens and across the pond we Celts had our Undines and Kelpies even Selkies. Much of these creatures and the tales were demonized over time due to the infestation of Christ insanity that fed on the superstitions of village idiots or those of low learning. The slaughter of the wise, cunning folk including witches (Germanic of origin) and Druids (Celt) helped to fan the village idiot class of thinking and many villagers were threatened to capitulate on pain of death to the Abrahamic invasion/takeover.
