Up-cycle home linens and Threads/Lingerie with a jolt of Golden Yellow color. It’s a perfect time of the year to get rid of threads that you don’t love and unflattering colors. Even sheets and bath/tea towels can be recolored to give the home a boost of color. Instead of giving away what isn’t going to be used anymore, recoloring is an option to extended use and save bucks. Now this is an old post from an old site I had and these days I like to use natural and vegan colors. I still have some packs of these I'm using up today to avoid waste. Ingredients
Method
In ClosingOne pack dyes around 1kg of fabric and more or less of the powder can be used depending on desired shade – keep in mind the longer the fabrics process the deeper the shade also. Personally I used 1 pack for two sometimes 3 batches. Instead of tipping out the used dye batch water – I added a 2nd lot whilst still boiling with extra salt and repeated the process. When used I then gave the items a wash together. With 1 packet I colored 5 yoga straps, 2 pairs shoelaces, 3 queen poly blend sheets and 6 pillowcases, poly mini, 6 tops OR 10 Bras, 5 briefs, pair of knee highs, 4 Bramis, Garter belt. It’s important to note non color safe patterns may darken the dye batch or color other fabrics in the batch and knot all stitching will take on color or do so differently to the fabric.
